Ralph Porter Elliott Sr.

Ralph Porter Elliott, Sr., 76, of Louisiana, died Sunday, Feb. 25, 2018 at Pike County Memorial Hospital in Louisiana.

A family-ran celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m., Sunday at the Louisiana Elk Lodge. Cremation rites were under the direction of Collier Funeral Homes, Inc in Louisiana.

Porter was born Nov. 28, 1941 in Pike County, the son of James Wesley and Leona Irene Hudson Elliott. He married Linda Sue Looper June 20, 1963 in Louisiana. She survives.

Porter leaves behind a large family of children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Ray, Clyde and Jim Elliott.

Porter was a life-long resident of Louisiana. He served his country in the United States Marine Corp. and the United States Army where he served as a helicopter pilot. He served and was injured during the Vietman War and retired.

He served on the Louisiana Board of Adjustment for 40 years. He enjoyed helping people, painting and woodworking. Porter loved spending time with all of this family and loved squirrel hunting and fishing.
