Roger Runyon

Roger Runyon, 78, of Frankford died Friday, April 6, 2018 at Boone County Hospital in Columbia.

Funeral services were held at noon Monday at the Frankford Presbyterian Church in Frankford with Lay Pastor Chris Gamm officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery in Frankford.

Visitation was from 10 a.m., to time of service at the church.

Roger was born June 19, 1939 in Frankford, the son of Lenard Warren and Betty Sue Flowers Runyon. He married Linda Belle Carlson July 30, 1961.

She preceded him in death on April 30, 2003.

Survivors include daughter Melinda Buchanan and husband, David of Frankford; grandchildren, Brandon Runyon and wife, Brittany, Chance Buchanan and wife, Malinka, Cole Buchanan, Cory Buchanan; great grandchildren Kinsley and Kaysen Runyon, Braelynn Buchanan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son, Mike Runyon and sister, Carolyn Weatherby.

Roger grew up and lived in Frankford/Spencerburg area most of his life and attended the Frankford Schools. He was a member of the Frankford Presbyterian Church. Roger was a farmer his entire life, loved his cattle and enjoyed going to the sale barn.

Pallbearers were Brandon Runyon, Chance Buchanan, Cole Buchanan, Cory Buchanan, Josh Roan and David Buchanan. Honorary pallbearers will be Matt Hudson, Claude Niemeyer and George Reading Jr.

Memorials may be made to Pike County Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers organization.
