Mildred ‘Biny’ Cannon

Mildred “Biny” Cannon, 83, of Clarksville, died Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Maple Grove Lodge Nursing Home in Louisiana.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday at Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana. The Rev. Randall Cone will officiate. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Clarksville.

Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m., Tuesday (today) at the funeral home.

She was born Nov. 7, 1934 in Louisiana to David Clark and Sarah Jane Cothron Davidson. She was married to John Eldon Cannon on May 2, 1954 in Clarksville.

She is survived by her husband John; a son, Glenn Cannon and wife, Lois of Eolia; two grandchildren, Glenn David Cannon II and wife, Leigh, and Cheryl Stodgell and husband, Paul; and four great-grandchildren, David James Denbow, Abigail Faye Denbow, Christopher Stodgell, and Graham Cannon.

Mrs. Cannon had been a lifelong resident of Clarksville. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Clarksville. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the V.F.W. Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing bingo and going fishing. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Honorary pallbearers will be Guy Traynor, Tommy Hooton, and Frank Omohundro. Pallbearers will be Frank Warren, Steve Sheppard, Robert Omohundro, Marty Mitchell, Steven Hooton, and Joe Poddig.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in care of the funeral home.
