Martha June Trower
Martha June Trower, 91, of Vandalia died Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at Tri-County Care Center in Vandalia.
Cremation rites were accorded under the direction of Bienhoff Funeral Home. Private family services and interment of her cremains at Evergreen Memorial Gardens will be held at a later date.
Mrs. Trower was born Jan. 14, 1927 in Ralls County, the daughter of Ross James and Edna Pauline Greene Thompson. She was married to John Clayton Trower on March 4, 1949 in Hannibal. He preceded her in death Jan. 18, 1993.
Survivors include one sister, Charlene Bagley and husband, Harley of Vandalia; three nephews, Eugene McDonald of Vandlia, Dwayne McDonald of Farber, and Randy McDonald of Center; three nieces, Charlotte Gaw of Warrensburg, Edna Sue Gaw of Center, and Angela Clampitt of Mexico.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Lucille Lane and one nephew, Danny McDonald.
Mrs. Trower was a lifetime area resident and a 1945 graduate of Vandalia High School. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Vandalia. She was employed at International Shoe Company for 15 years and as a cook for Van-Far High School for 15 years. She did volunteer work at Countryside Manor and enjoyed doing crafts.
