Alice Lucille Turner

Funeral services for Alice Lucille Kahl Turner, 86, of Louisiana were at 11 a.m., Monday at Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana. Pastor Marshall Adams officiated. Burial was at Riverview Cemetery in Louisiana.

Visitation was from 4-8 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Turner died at Tri-County Nursing Home in Vandalia on Wednesday June 20, 2018.

She was born Nov. 16, 1931 at her parents’ home in Macoupin County in Illinois to Ralph and Emma Hampton Kahl. She married Grover H. Turner on June 24, 1950 at Carlinville, Ill. He preceded her in death.

She is also survived by three sons, Grover L. Turner and wife, Beverly and Kenneth D. Turner and wife, Jody of Bowling Green, and James D. Turner of Louisiana; two daughters, Connie Pruitt of Bowling Green and Joann Kennedy and husband, Roger of Louisiana; 14 grandchildren, Jimmy Pruitt, Rhonda Pruitt, Stephen Pruitt, Lynn Turner Jr., Holly Leverenz, Erin Findley, Amy Pederson, Elizabeth Couch, Dwane Turner, Jacquiline Barton, Leah Bryant, Ryan Wilson, Cole Turner and Jordan Turner; 33 great-grandchildren and one great-great- granddaughter. Also four sisters and eight brothers.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Emma Kahl, sister, Eleanor Whitlow, and son-in-law, Jim Pruitt.

Mrs. Turner had owned and worked at local restaurants prior to her retirement.

Alice was one fantastic woman, kind, generous, caring, giving, wonderful, loving and made the best dinner’s rolls ever. She loved flowers, gardening, watching birds, enjoyed her humming birds. She was devoted to her family and she was her family strength. She gave everyone hope, love, encouragement and helping hand whenever they needed it. For each life she touched she enriched it tremendously.

Pallbearers were Jimmy Pruitt, Lynn Turner Jr, Dwane Turner, Ryan Wilson, Trenton Turner Bradly Pruitt. Honorary pallbearers were Cole Turner, Jordan Turner, Stephen Pruitt, Hunter Pruitt.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Diabetes Association.
