Johnie Richard Robinson

Services for Johnie Richard Robinson, 86, of Center were at 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 1 at Bienhoff Funeral Home in Perry with Jeff Anselmi, minister and Pastor Leanne Reed officiating. Burial was in Lick Creek Cemetery.

Visitation was from 5-7 p.m., Friday, Aug. 31 at the funeral home.

Mr. Robinson died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2018 at his home.

He was born Aug. 5, 1932 in Ralls County, the son of Rollie Richard and Sarah Helen Buffington Robinson. He married Mary Virginia Novel July 20, 1958 in Hannibal. She preceded him in death on Dec. 14, 2017.

Survivors include one son, John E. Robinson and wife, Lori of Center; one daughter, Robin Anselmi and husband, Jeff of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; one brother, Raymond Robinson of Marceline; two sisters, Elizabeth Brown of Perry and Evalene Enochs of Monroe City; three grandchildren, Misty Rodda of Gainsville, Va., Rachel Anselmi of Tempe, Ariz., and Clayton Robinson of Center; and three great-grandchildren, Grant, Ashton and Avary Rodda of Gainesville, Va.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Lettie Peery.

Mr. Robinson was a lifetime area resident and farmer. He attended Union Chapel Christian Church and was a 1950 graduate of Perry High School.

He entered active service the United States Army on Dec. 11, 1952 where he attained the rank of corporal. He was honorably discharged from the Army Reserve Dec. 10, 1960. He was a former member of the Center Lions Club and Center VFW.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, dancing at the Moose Lodge and spending time with his family.

Pallbearers were Lance Brown, Dickie Brown, Calvin Brown, Bruce Brown, Jason Brown and Lendell Peery. Honorary pallbearers were George E. Lane, Albert Black, Bobby Evans, Ray Novel, Terry Dowell, Greg Evans, Raymond Robinson, Rex Brown, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
