Jesse Daniel ‘J.D.’ Gay

Services for Jesse Daniel “J.D.” Gay, 76, of Farber will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday at Bienhoff Funeral Home in Vandalia with the Rev. Brian Lehenbauer officiating. Burial will be in Farber Cemetery.
Visitation will be from noon until the time of service Thursday at the funeral home.
Mr. Gay died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2019 at SSM St. Mary’s Hospital-Audrain.
He was born in Bowling Green on Feb. 10, 1942, the son of James Faye and Agnes Paulina Phelps Gay. He married Sandra Sue Welch on Oct. 26, 1974 in Bowling Green. She survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Jeff Gay and wife, Brandie and Brent Gay, both of Farber; four daughters, Tammy Pringle and husband, Teddy of Dadeville, Amy Mackintosh and Chris Jensen of Stafford, Va., Robyn Lovelace and husband, Brian and Kristen Greenplate, both of Farber; one brother, Jimmy Gay and wife, Jeannie of Perry; two sisters, Kay Sparks of New Hartford and Fran Watts of Vandalia; nine grandchildren, Tyler Leith, Kayla and Rachel Myers, Liam Mackintosh, Jarret and Josie Lovelace, Jace and Dalana Gay and Gavin Greenplate; and two great-grandchildren, Sophia Leith and Skylar Prather.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Faye Lane and Rosie Willis.
Mr. Gay was a lifetime area resident, Christian by faith and 1960 graduate of Bowling Green High School. He was a union electrician with IBEW Union Local 257. He enjoyed gardening, listening to country music, visiting with friends and family and meeting new friends.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Gay, Brent Gay, Jarret Lovelace, Teddy Pringle, Jace Gay, and Gavin Greenplate. Honorary pallbearers will be Garry Williams, Jimmy Gay, Ralph Morgan, Ralph Kuda, and Bill Stubblefield.
