Virginia Ruth Brocksmith

Virginia Ruth Brocksmith, 91, of Louisiana died Saturday, March 9, 2019 at the Maple Grove Lodge nursing home in Louisiana.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday (today) at Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana. Robert Rue will officiate. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery in Louisiana.
Visitation will be from noon until time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
She was born on March 10, 1927 in New London to Riley Eugene and Sarah Ethel Hiles Anderson. She was married to Roscoe Ayers in August 1948 in Ashburn,. He preceded her in death in July 1975. She later married Perry Brocksmith in December 1985 in Hannibal. He preceded her in death in July 2000.
Ruth is survived by three children, John Ayers Sr., Golda Turner and husband, Robert, and Eavelyn Rue and husband, Robert, all of Louisiana; a sister, Nell Pafford of Hannibal; 10 grandchildren, John Ayers Jr., Richard Ayers, Phillip Ayers, Scott Turner, James Turner, Margaret Herring, Debbie Holland, Lori Rosenkravz, Gayle Williams, and Ralph Rue; 18 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Brock, seven brothers, Curtis Anderson, George Anderson, Grover Anderson, Leonard Anderson, Mason Anderson, John Anderson, and Joseph Anderson, and a grandson, Robert Turner.
Ruth enjoyed doing embroidery, and gardening. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Bowling Green.
Pallbearers will be John Ayers Jr., Richard Ayers, Phillip Ayers, James Turner, Jimmy Turner, Nick Ayers, and Ralph Rue.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
