Joseph C. Mabry

Joseph C. Mabry, 77, of Clarksville died Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2019 at his home in Clarksville. Cremation rites were provided by Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana. Memorial services were held from 4-7 p.m., Saturday at Tievoli Hills near Clarksville.

He was born March 26, 1942 in Callaway County to William Richard and Esther Irene Barton Mabry. He was married to Holly Hintz Mabry for 55 years. She survives.

Other survivors include a daughter, Malinda Hoy and husband, Steve of Bois D’Arc; a son, Barton Mabry and wife, Michelle of Farmington; two grandchildren, Caitlyn and Madelyn Mabry; and a brother, Wayne Mabry and wife, Carolyn of Clarksville.

Mr. Mabry was a graduate of Wellsville/Middletown R-I High School and continued his education at Truman State University receiving a masters degree. He worked as a Math Instructor at Pike R-III Clop-ton, a cashier at Clifford Bank, he was owner of Professional Services, a contract janitorial service for Dundee (Holcim) at Clarksville, re-tired from GM Wentzville Assembly Center, and did some excavating services.

He served as a board member on the Calumet Township Fire Protection Association, was a 50-year member of the City of Clarksville Volunteer Fire Dept., a member of the Pike County Fire Chief’s Association and Pike County Local Emergency Planning Commission. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, Clarksville Boat Club, Elks Lodge, and one of the founders of the Bi-County Rescue Squad.

Memorials may be made to the Calumet Township Fire Protection District or to Pike County Home Care and Hospice.
