Former Van-Far Indian star Mike Smith is set to resume his professional basketball career in Belgium.
The guard inked a deal for the upcoming season with Leige Basket in Liege, Belgium and play in the Belgium-Ethias League.
Smith missed last season with a wrist injury after being drafted by the Iowa Energy in the NBA D-League. Mike played the 2011-12 season in Germany.
Smith led the Indians to a state championship and graduated Van-Far in 2006. That led to a fantastic four year run at East Tennessee State (ETSU) where he was an A-Sun all freshman player in 2006-07 and twice named to the conference all tournament team.
Smith now resides in Columbia, Mo with his fiancee Katie, and just completed the 2nd Annual Mike Smith Basketball camp for area youth players that was held at Van-Far High School.
