Daniel ‘Dan’ Wayne Spegal

Daniel (Dan) Wayne Spegal, 63, of Bowling Green died Monday, Jan. 22, 2018 at his home.

Funeral services were held 10 a.m., Saturday at St. Clement Catholic Church with the Rev. Jason T. Doke, STL. Burial was in St. Clement Cemetery.

Visitation was held from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the Bibb-Veach Funeral Home.

Daniel was born Oct. 12, 1954 in Chicago, the son of Dale Wayne and Mary Ann Leidner Spegal. On July 6, 1985 in Elmwood Park, Ill., he married Rose Ann Madeja. She survives.

Other survivors include his parents; daughters, Nicole Smith and husband, Chris of Eagle River, Alaska, Rebecca Lorenson and husband, Donnie of Bowling Green; three grandchildren, Alex, Jackson and Eleanor Smith; siblings, Bill Spegal and wife, Kitty of Bowling Green, Rob Spegal and wife, Terri of Campbellsville, Ky, John Spegal and wife, Gretchen of Frankford, Louise Spegal of Bowling Green; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Daniel grew up in Chicago, Ill., graduated from Bowling Green High School in 1973, and returned back to Chicago until 1997 when he moved his family back to Bowling Green.

He was a member of the St. Clement Catholic Church, worked for Bell & Howell in Chicago for over 20 years and has worked for N.E.C.C. as a plant engineer for the past 21 years.

Daniel enjoyed bowling, cooking, baking and spending time with his family.

Pallbearers were Bill Spegal, Rob Spegal, John Spegal, Chris Smith, Donnie Lorenson and Rick Spegal. Honorary pallbearers were Kris Spegal, Alex Smith, Mike Spegal, Henry Spegal and Anthony Spegal.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the St. Clement Church.
