Charles M. Kennen, 85, of Laddonia died Friday, July 16, 2010 at Landmark Hospital in Columbia.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday (today) at 3 p.m., at the Vandalia Cemetery with the Rev. Tommy Barnhart officiating.
No public visitation will be held.
He was born Oct. 24, 1924 in Independence, the son of Albert L. and Leta McCune Kennen. He married Geraldine Virginia Watts on May 5, 1945 in Auxvasse. She preceded him in death on June 27, 2006.
Survivors include one brother, Max Kennen of Laddonia; great-niece, Sandra Traynor of Bowling Green and grand-nephew, Richard Jennings of Warrenton.
He was preceded in death by wife, Geraldine; two brothers, Edward Kennen and Albert Kennen.
He attended schools in Independence and he and Geraldine moved to Laddonia in 1952. Charles farmed in the Laddonia area for many years and was known as a “farmer investor”. He was an avid reader and enjoyed fishing and gardening with Geraldine.
Pallbearers will be Mary Tiller, Kevin Bushnell, Glen Jensen, A.J. Jensen, Matt Jensen and Mike Horton.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are encouraged to the First Baptist Church, 3rd and Maple Streets, Laddonia, MO 63352.
