Dana Ruth Drescher Poage, 48, of Louisiana, died at Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at Pike County Memorial Hospital in Louisiana from an accidental drowning near Louisiana.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday at Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel in Palmyra. Rev. Drew Sutor officiated. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery in Palmyra.
Visitation was from 5-7 p.m., Friday at the Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel.
She was born April 29, 1962 in Hannibal to James A. and Phyllis E. Johnson Drescher.
She is survived by three sons, Matthew James Gottman of Blue Springs, Caleb William Gottman of Palmyra and Clayton Ray Waelder of Hannibal; a grandson, Andrew James Gottman of Blue Springs; her father, James A. Drescher of Palmyra; three sisters, Debbie Dugan of Bloomington, Ind., Linda Green of Quincy, Ill., and Toni Logan Defendorf of South Salem, N.Y.; three brothers, James H. Drescher of Franklin, Tenn., Kent E. Drescher of Mission Viejo, Calif.; and Scott Alaric Shade of Columbia; and friend, Tim Francis of Louisiana.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Phyllis E. Drescher.
Dana was very gifted musically and could play almost any instrument. She was a runner-up in the Miss Palmyra Pageant and was the winner of the talent competition. She was a member of the Baptist faith. Dana was a 1980 graduate of Palmyra High School.
Casket bearers were Joni Crane, Valerie Dornberger, Leon Perry, Devin Perry, Terry Dugan, and Jay Gottman. Honorary bearers are Dudley Gibson, Tom Johnson, Bill Fessenden, Danny Christy, Alan Hinds, Bob Bross, and Adam Schneider .
