Chad Harvey Pleads Guilty To Murder

Parents, Siblings & Others Still Face Charges In Death Of James McNeely

Chad M. Harvey, 19, of Eolia, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, kidnapping and abandonment of a corpse in the Dec. 18, 2009 death of James William Boyd McNeely at the Harvey  home located at 312 Young Street in Laddonia.
Harvey, among four family members and three others, admitted his involvement in Boone County Court where it was moved on a change of venue on Tuesday. He could receive life in prison at his Dec. 20 sentencing hearing.
Harvey’s father, Chester C. Harvey Jr., 38, has been charged with first-degree murder, kidnapping and armed criminal action along with his mother, Angela Harvey, 34.
A brother, Jordan Clay Harvey, 15, will be tried as an adult for second-degree murder, kidnapping and felonious restraint. Another brother, 17, will have a hearing to be tried as an adult.
Chester C. Harvey Jr., will go to trial on Nov. 16.
Jackie Don Moss, 44, Vandalia, Robert N. Allen, 52, Vandalia and Darrill K. Lynn, 45, Farber have been charged with kidnapping in the case. Moss and Allen have Oct. 22 hearings and Lynn will be arraigned Nov. 1.
